Looking for a Complianz alternative?

Complianz is a good WordPress plugin, and that is also the limit: it is WordPress plus a separate Shopify app, with no generic hosted script. The moment a client arrives on Shoptet, Shopware or Webflow, you need a second CMP.

Why people switch from Complianz

  • WordPress only, plus a separate Shopify app — nothing for Shoptet, Shopware, Webflow, PrestaShop or a hand-built site.
  • When a licence is not renewed you can no longer edit the legal documents or the configuration, and TCF and plugin updates stop.
  • The entry licence excludes WordPress Multisite even on a single domain.
  • Separate licences cannot be merged, and each keeps its own renewal date.
  • Now part of iubenda and team.blue, alongside consentmanager.

Cookifi compared with Complianz

What you are comparing Cookifi Complianz
Pricing model Flat monthly base from €10 plus usage on read events; the first 10,000 events each month are free. A WordPress plugin licensed per site, billed yearly and auto-renewing, with tiers by site count (1, 5 and 25 sites; the top tier is required for WordPress Multisite). Pageviews are unlimited. The Shopify app is a separate product and the licences are not interchangeable.
Free tier A 14-day trial without a card, and the first 10,000 read events each month stay free afterwards. The free wordpress.org plugin gives a banner, a cookie policy, consent and translations — without statistics, records of consent, geo-IP, Consent Mode v2 or TCF, and with limited support.
Google Consent Mode v2 Yes — Google and Microsoft Consent Mode v2. Higher tiers only — Premium licences only — the free plugin does not signal Consent Mode v2.
Google-certified CMP partner Yes Yes
IAB TCF On the roadmap, not shipped Yes — IAB CMP ID 332, premium only.
Several sites and white label Unlimited subdomains and team members on every plan, with agency grouping of properties. Branding removal on Enterprise. No central hosted dashboard. The top tier adds a Multisite plugin within one WordPress network. White label is not mentioned.
Support Live chat and email on every plan; a human response within one business day on Enterprise. Tickets and docs, described as limited on the free plugin and priority on premium. No published response time.
Platforms One hosted script for any platform — shop systems, website builders and hand-built sites alike. WordPress plugin only, plus a separate Shopify app. No generic hosted script.
Getting your data out An audit-ready consent log, plus a consent-rate dashboard. Records of consent exist in the premium plugin, but an export is not documented.

Moving from Complianz to Cookifi

  1. 1

Export what you can from Complianz.

Export whatever your premium records of consent will give you before the licence lapses — the format is not documented, so check what the plugin offers — and keep it for your records. Cookifi re-detects cookie categories with its own scan.

  2. 2

Create the Cookifi property, run a scan, and review the suggested categories.

  3. 3

Paste the Cookifi script, then remove the Complianz script or deactivate its plugin.

  4. 4

Re-point Consent Mode: Cookifi sets the defaults through the Google icon, and the consent tag or template from Complianz comes out of GTM.

  5. 5

Verify in GTM Preview or Tag Assistant that tags wait for consent, and keep the old consent-log export for your records.

Typical time: 20 to 30 minutes for a hosted-script CMP, plus about 15 minutes for a WordPress plugin you have to deactivate, delete and clear the cache for.

What you get with Cookifi

A flat base, not a tier ladder

One monthly base from €10 plus usage on read events — the first 10,000 each month are free. Subdomains and team members are unlimited, so a second site is not a second plan.

Support that answers

Live chat and email on every plan, with a human response within one business day on Enterprise. We are a small team, which is why the things customers ask for tend to ship quickly.

Live in under 10 minutes

One script in the head, a scan that suggests the categories for you, and a 14-day trial that needs no card.

Built for the modern stack

Google and Microsoft Consent Mode v2 are first-class, GA4 and GTM are the default path, and Cookifi is a Google-certified CMP partner.

Frequently asked questions

I only run WordPress. Is there any reason to move?

Three, if they apply to you: Consent Mode v2 and TCF are premium-only, the configuration becomes read-only if a licence lapses, and there is no dashboard across sites. If none of those bite, Complianz is a reasonable plugin.

Does Cookifi have a WordPress plugin?

Cookifi is a hosted script, so a plugin is not needed: a snippet plugin such as WPCode, or a child theme's wp_head hook, is the whole installation — and the same script works on every other platform.

How long does the move take?

Count on 35 to 45 minutes for a WordPress site: 20 to 30 minutes for the property, scan and script, plus the time to deactivate and delete the plugin and clear the cache.
